KENNETH R LEE

THE LEE GROUP is led by Kenneth R Lee, active for more than 20 years in Mexico and Latin America in the legal and business sectors. He has worked in Venezuela for a US multinational company, providing various construction management services in connection with the construction of the Alcasa Fase IV and Venalum aluminum smelters. After commencing his legal career in New York with White & Case LLP, he also developed the firm’s Mexico-related practice, established its Mexico City office and contributed significantly to its success.

He has extensive counseling and transactional experience in corporate finance matters, including banking/debt restructuring, capital markets and structured finance, as well as in equipment finance, M&A and corporate/commercial and related matters, including dispute resolution.

His transactional experience is reflected in his management and execution of sophisticated, multi-jurisdictional transactions, including coordination of the documentation process and efforts of multi-disciplinary teams, including local law, accounting, financial and technical advisers. His counseling skills extend beyond solely the legal issues involved in his clients’ matters to the business and financial aspects arising in cross-border transactions.

Mr. Lee received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Virginia and is admitted to practice law in Washington DC and New York. He is a member of various legal and business associations with a particular focus on Mexico and Latin America and has written and lectured on legal and business topics in the region.

He is fluent in English, Spanish and Italian.
